Anne-Marie Szmyt

Anne-Marie Szmyt joined Smith College in 2019 and serves as vice president for Human Resources. She leads a dedicated team that orchestrates the recruitment and retention of talented staff who are driven to fulfill the college’s commitment to knowledge, community, and generosity. In addition, she spearheads key initiatives within Human Resources, such as employee engagement efforts, the Executive Education program, and the Center for Early Childhood Education. In her cabinet role, she provides strategic leadership and direction on workforce development, ensuring that Smith maintains its reputation as an employer of choice. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Providence College, a master’s degree in health management from Springfield College, and a Master of Education and a doctoral degree in leadership and management from American International College.
